We want every patient to be able to use this website, whatever device or assistive technology they rely on.
Castillo’s Pharmacy Group is committed to making PharmacyandCompounding.com usable by everyone, including people who use screen readers, keyboard-only navigation, screen magnification or voice control.
What we aim for
We work towards conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities, including visual, hearing, cognitive, learning and mobility impairments.
What this site does
- Every page can be operated by keyboard alone, with a visible focus outline on links, buttons and form fields.
- A “Skip to content” link appears first on every page, so screen reader and keyboard users can jump past the navigation.
- Headings follow a logical order, so assistive technology can be used to navigate a page by structure.
- Text and background colors are chosen to meet the contrast ratios WCAG sets for body text.
- Form fields have visible labels that stay on screen, rather than placeholder text that disappears as you type.
- Images that carry meaning have text alternatives; decorative images are hidden from assistive technology.
- Text can be resized up to 200% without loss of content or function, and the layout reflows on small screens.
- Animation and movement respect the operating system’s “reduce motion” setting.
Where we know we fall short
Accessibility is ongoing work, not a box to tick. We are currently reviewing:
- Some PDF documents that pre-date this website and may not be fully tagged for screen readers.
- Third-party tools embedded in the site, such as our refill portal, where we do not control the underlying code. We raise accessibility issues with those suppliers as we find them.
Tell us if something does not work
If you meet a barrier on this site — a page you cannot read, a form you cannot complete, or anything that behaves unexpectedly with your assistive technology — please tell us. We will fix it, and in the meantime we will give you the information or service another way.
Email castillos@pharmacyandmedicalsupply.com, or call any of our pharmacies — the numbers are on our locations page. Please tell us the page address and what went wrong, and we will respond within five business days.
You can always reach a pharmacist by phone. Nothing on this website replaces talking to us. If the site is not working for you, call your pharmacy and we will help you directly.
