About us

Castillo’s Pharmacy is five independently owned pharmacies in Florida — three in Lee County and two in Hillsborough. We are not a chain, and the difference is not a slogan: it is that the person who fills your prescription this month is the person who filled it last month.

Our name

Castillo’s Pharmacy coat of arms: three silver castles and a gold Rx crossed with a key, on a blue shield within a laurel wreath

Castillo means castle. The three silver castles on the shield are the family name; the gold Rx crossed with a key is the pharmacy itself.

It was the first mark the business used, and it still says the plain thing: a family name over the door, and a pharmacist behind the counter who knows yours.

What independent actually means here

It means a pharmacist picks up the phone instead of a menu. It means we can spend fifteen minutes on your medication list because nobody is timing us. It means if a medicine is cheaper paid in cash than through your plan, we will tell you, even though it earns us less.

It also means we are small enough to do things a chain will not: synchronize all your refills to one date, flavor a child’s medicine for free, deliver to your door at no charge, pack a week of doses into blisters so a family member can check at a glance.

Where we are

The towns around them, county by county. Lee County: Cape Coral, Fort Myers, North Fort Myers, Lehigh Acres, Iona and McGregor, San Carlos Park, Matlacha and Pine Island. Hillsborough County: Brandon, Riverview, Valrico, Bloomingdale, Seffner, Gibsonton, Apollo Beach and south-east Tampa. Delivery is free to the areas around each store. If you do not see your area here, call your nearest one — we will usually find a way to make it work.

Licensing

Every store holds a Florida pharmacy permit and has a pharmacist-in-charge licensed by the Florida Board of Pharmacy and certified to administer immunizations. Each store page lists its permit number, its pharmacist-in-charge with their license number, and its NPI.

You can verify any of it yourself on the Florida Department of Health license lookup. We would rather you checked than took our word for it.

Compounding

All compounding for the group is done at our Brandon pharmacy and shipped to the other four stores, so a compounded prescription is prepared by the same team whichever store you collect it from.

More than just a pharmacy

Good pharmacy care starts with knowing our patients. Whether it is answering a question about a medication, helping coordinate refills, or working with your prescriber, our goal is to make your pharmacy experience easier and more personal.

We are proud to serve our communities, and to build lasting relationships with the patients and families who trust us with their care.
