Talk to our pharmacist

A pharmacist is one of the few healthcare professionals you can speak to without an appointment, without a referral and without a bill. Use that.

You do not have to be our patient

If you filled a prescription somewhere else and have a question about it, ask us anyway. We will not tell you to go back to them.

What people ask us

  • “Can I take this with that?” — interactions between prescriptions, over-the-counter medicines and supplements
  • “Is this side effect normal?” — and whether it is worth telling your doctor
  • “I missed a dose, what do I do?”
  • “Why is this one so expensive?” — and whether there is a cheaper equivalent
  • “My parent takes eleven things, is that right?” — usually the start of a medication review
  • “Should I be taking this at all any more?”

How to reach a pharmacist

Call your store and ask for the pharmacist, or come to the counter. If they are mid-way through something they will call you back — usually within the hour.

If you think you are having a serious reaction to a medication, do not wait for a call back. Call 911 or go to an emergency department.

What you can ask about

  • A new prescription — what it does, what to expect, what to watch for.
  • Side effects — whether what you are feeling is the medicine, and whether it should settle.
  • Interactions — before you start a supplement or an over-the-counter remedy, not after.
  • Something over the counter — which one actually suits you, and whether you need anything at all.
  • A medicine for a child — dosing by weight, and whether we can flavor it.
  • Cost — whether there is a cheaper route. Ask us to check.
  • Whether to see a doctor. A pharmacist will tell you plainly when something needs a prescriber or an emergency department.

No appointment, no charge

Walk in and ask. If the pharmacist is mid-task you may wait a few minutes; if you would rather not, call ahead and we will arrange a time.

You can also call or text your store — our numbers receive text messages, which is often the easiest way to ask something small.

What we will not do by message

We will not discuss detailed health information over an unsecured channel, and we will not diagnose. For anything involving your records or your prescription history, we will ask you to call or come in — that protection is for you.

Please do not send health details through the website contact form. Use the refill or transfer forms, which route to a protected pharmacy mailbox, or simply call. See our Notice of Privacy Practices.

Find your pharmacist

Numbers and hours for all five pharmacies are on the locations page. We are closed at weekends — for anything urgent, call or text and we will come back to you when we open.
